The tunnel connects the South Phu An Economic Zone in Phu An Province and the Wanfeng Economic Zone in Qinghe Province. The CA Pass tunnel is the second largest tunnel project in central Vietnam, second only to the Hai Van Pass tunnel, which was put into use in 2005. It consists of two parts: a 4125m CA Pass tunnel and a 500m Co Ma tunnel.
